Week ending April 9 2006
This week saw the weather varying from cold easterly winds to a warm bright mid week and back to cold winds and snow showers on the weekend. The water temperature has been 4.5. For those brave fishermen who have taken to the water this past week they have caught plenty of fish. With the rod average being a healthy 4.2. The heaviest fish of the week went to Mr Darren Williams of Rhuddlan who caught a beautiful over-wintered fish. It weighed in at 5lb 9 oz. He caught it on a sinking line and an orange booby of the bank between the visitor centre and the dam. The hot spots for the week have been on the Sailing Club and between the Visitor Centre and the Dam for bank anglers. For boats it has been Hafod Lom woods and the Sailing Club. For those of you who would like to improve your fly fishing technique or learn how to fly fish there are courses running through the season. If you would like more information please phone the office on 01490 420 463. We are holding a pike fishing week at the end of the season again this year. Last year it was a great success with people travelling from al around the UK to take part. The biggest pike was a 20lb 6oz beauty. We are starting to take bookings from May 1st. So if you would like to take part please phone the office on 01490 420 463 to book a boat as it was fully booked last season. The Airflow DCWW competition is being held again this season with some fabulous cash prizes and a very well stocked goody bag for all those who enter. The competition date is the 16th of September.
