I just received this link to the article that Jared Durrant, the Utah
college student who was asking
about fly-fishing here in ROFF last month.
Although I'm not the artist as mentioned in the article, I enjoyed reading
and very pleased to see
a student making good. He also wanted to thank all of those in ROFF who
helped with the article.

The note with the link:

Tom,

Thanks for your help. I enjoyed seeing all of the postings that came in
response for a little help on a paper.
The article is finished, and you can read it at the following link
http://www.hardnewscafe.usu.edu/spor...06_bigfly.html

This was an introductory online journalism class, that encourages us to use
posting from usenet groups, e-mail interviews, etc. I appreciate your help.
Finals are all done, and it is sweet summer break!! Hopefully I will be able
to find some time to do a little fly fishing!!
Thanks again,
Jared

So my first time fly fishing which was last week, I ended up catching 5
fish, but I ended up catching more grass, and weeds on my backcast. I
guess I will just have to keep practicing!

Yea, I kindda feel bad stealing the show, especially when a lot of ROFFian's
have paid
their dues here. I actually had no idea he was going to publish the article
or what he was
going to use quotes. It reminds me of the guy who passes on the raffle
ticket for the new car,
and the next door neighbor ends up winning. But in case I get any free
invites or cases of beer,
I'll be sure to turn them offer to ROFF.

Did he have the wrong Tom N.?

I can answer that - YES. Of course, I found that out after sending Tom an
email praising his beautiful art work.
