Beginner question
I ordered a fly rod kit from Cabelas. It came with a pack of
multicolored fuzzy things with no hooks and just rubber rings attached to them. Are these for practice or are you supposed to attached them together with the fly? Thanks Roger |

Thanks Roger My guess is that they are strike indicators. they loop onto your leader, about 5 feet above the fly, depending on water depth. -- Scott Reverse name to reply |

They are strike indicators. They can also be used "practice flies."
What I do when I'm practicing in the yard is tie on a piece of yarn in place of the fly. That will allow you to see where the fly would land and additionally, won't snag in the grass. Frank Reid |
