My Indiana Top-8 Results
Well, we fished our top-8 last weekend at Brookville. I ended up 26th out of
118 with one fish for 2-3. I lost a fish that would have moved me on a s a boater. Oh well. It was tough fishing for all. About 3-11 was all that was needed to make the cut and 4-8 would get you in as a boater. Lots of spawning fish and lots of fish not quite locked on beds. Could not manage to get any bed fish to hit and I did not want to sit and use up a bunch of time on them. I did catch tons of fish, but only managed that one keeper. The bite was light on jigs, tubes and C-rigs with the jig getting the most action. I never felt a fish hit, just saw the line move or felt a slight mush. I missed several on a jig that were only taking the trailer. I shortened the trailer and finally managed to start hooking more jig fish. I know I had enough bites to maybe even win, but I adjusted my jig fishing too late. Sunday I'll be heading south to Monroe for our next club event. Should be a pretty good tourney with fish in all stages of the spawn. Brad Coovert 2003 Angler of the Year, Greenfield Bassmasters http://www.greenfieldbassmasters.com |
