Fishing for sheepshead in tampa bay

I've tried fiddler crabs while fishing for sheepshead, they love them
but you can't catch fish as they seem to suck the fiddler off instead
of biting. Any thoughts on what I should try?

Thanks,

Smart little bugger's aren't they? We always used a rig with the sinker at
the end, that keeps tension on the line as you move it slowly up and down
around pilings. Hold the line between you're thumb and finger too, as they
will use those molars to crush the crabs and you will hardly ever feel the
bite. It works for drum as well. Good luck...

Here is an awesome solution

Now if I can get them to make them bigger than a 2/0 (they won't untill
people ask them to)

Some hand made proto's is 5/0 through 9/0, never lost a cut bait (unless
the fish was caught) while wreck fishing (deep sea fishing), they caught
every fish that bit.

I need to get TTI to go all the way, and make these for deep sea fishing

Yup, those work too. If you're not fishing around pilings, try sand fleas as
they work really good as well. I found that if you slightly boil them first
they turn pink(like shrimp)and for some unknown reason the sheeps just jump
on 'um...
