LLYN BRENIG FISHING REPORT WEEK ENDING May 22nd
The last week has seen a large amount of rainfall, although generally with drier evenings, combined with a water temperature of 12 C. Fishing conditions have also been variable, with a rod average of 2.5 fish. The largest fish of the week has been 11lb 7oz, caught on a booby, by Chris Owen from Caernarfon. The sheltered bays have seen the best fishing, with bank anglers doing particularly well in the Brenig Arm. Boats have seen the best fishing in Tower Bay. Foxon' s held their second league match of the season on Sunday, with 8 teams taking part. First place on the day went to Team Ruabon (28.6 lbs), closely followed by the Brenig Barons (25.0) and G4 (19.0). The next fly-fishing course is being held on the 18th June. It is open to all, whether you are just starting or have been casting for 20 years. The cost is £31 (£16 for juniors). Please call the Ranger's Office to book places, on 01490 420 463. The price includes a packed lunch. Speaking of lunch, the café is open every day, from 10 - 4 on weekdays, and from 8 - 4:30 on weekends, bank holidays and big competition days. It is, of course open to all, whether fishing, walking, cycling, or just passing through. We hope to see you soon. Ranger Robert Parry -- Alec Powell Watlington Oxon. UK Skype name: alecpowell |
