Some Fly Help, Please

Lady and Gentlemen: Good evening!

I poke about this news group and occasionally (about once every two
years) post a report regarding how the salmon fishing is at the mouth of
Gig Harbor, Washington. And how the night life was at Tides Tavern in
Gig Harbor. It is coming up to the time when SWMBO and I will once
again be going out to "God's country." This year, however, we will be
going to the western side of the Olympic Peninsula to spend a couple of
days at the junction of the Bogachiel and Sol-Duc rivers. This is
supposed to be the primer fishing area in the state of Washington for
Steelhead. Admittedly, it is not the best of times for Steelhead, being
the summer run. But, life is what comes at you.

My question is this: Does anyone have a good recipe for tying a
Steelhead leader? Or should I just rely on a commercial knotless
tapered leader. I prefer to tie my own if at all possible. Just a
fetish of mine.

Thanks, I'll be sure to let ya'll know how the fishing for this
adventure and at the mouth of Gig Harbor went upon my return.

A piece of 10 lb. mono at the desired length (8-10') will work just
fine. Keep it simple, because you could be changing leaders often.
