Senkos revisited

I know that senkos are best when fished SLOW. Heck, I'd have to guess 80% to
90% of the fish I get on them hit as its falling. But on Saturday, for
whatever reason, slow was not the way to go. I caught my first 3 fish as I was
reeling in to make another cast. Once I got to a spot where I could actually
see the fish, they would watch it fall, and sometimes slowwly swim over to
investigate. But when I started bringing it in and twitching it as much as I
could was when they actually hit. I was useing 4" Senkos wacky rigged on a
Gamakatsu octopus circle hook. I ended up catching About 6 fish over 12", the
largest being about 15". I also caught probably 5 or 6 fish between 8" and
12".
The moral of the story: EXPERIMENT! Sometimes its trying the unusuall
or insane that gets the bites.
