It doesn't seem to be a huge problem in wild fish - but very bad news for
farms, stews and hatcheries. According to Defra no other outbreaks have
been found in the area.

Cheerio,

But could the cormorants spread the virus?

Not the ones from Leven 'cos they don't have the virus there.

But in princple I don't see why not - aIui the virus is in the wild at a low
level somewhere - but only becomes a problem when fish are crowded (which
naturally would be at spawning) hence it's really a fish-farm problem rather
than a big threat in the wild.
