Big Bass, small lake
Well this was a highlight of 3 seasons of fishing in our little lake today.
A 4.6 pounder taken on a a newly rigged worm bait. Usualy I just fish a G. Y. green worm but today I added a red bead and a 'tiny' bullet weight sinker to make just a bit of a 'click' and WOW what a hit! 6 feet from the canoe, he hit like a hammer and all I could do was hope! The first time a bass made my drag zing a bit and I saw a flash under the water. all I could hope for was that it was a bass and not a pickerel and boy was I happy! Pic posted in the pictures group, but WOW!!! what a fun catch and it felt good to release to make sure it would be cought again!. Question for the group, look at the small divit on the back right before the top fin, is this a sign of a male or female? Thanks. Banjo player |

Banjo player The small divot on the fish's back is simply some kind of birth defect or healed wound. It has nothing to do with determining sex of the fish. -- Steve @ OutdoorFrontiers http://www.outdoorfrontiers.com G & S Guide Service and Custom Rods http://www.herefishyfishy.com |
