abpf question

For some reason, I never see the original posts, only the ones whose titles
start with ''. Any idea why?

--riverman
(And did I punctuate that correctly? )

You're the teacher, even if it is math so punctuation and spelling are
up to you.g

I would assume that either your news reading software or your news
server is deleting the original message with the binary attachment.

?maybe your server has binary problems - can you see follow-ups with
attachments" i!e!: "" posts with pictures

If there are no pictures currently posted as replies, ask that one be
posted as a reply to a particular thread and see if you can see it.

Do you ever see a post with an actual attachment on abpf?

Yeah...Asadi's post on 4/7/06 was the last. It's the one titled '...now
that's a bad sign." Since then, every post has been only the followups.

The suggestion that my newsreader (or possibly my settings?) is filtering
out the original binary posts sounds possible. Could it be a settings issue?

With Outhouse Distress? ahahahahahahahaha!

Is there a setting that restricts the maximum message size you can download?

I applaud your subtle use of the clue bat.

And as an FYI: water's still coming over the spillway above the ypool (since
October - which is probably a record). A friend spotted a massive brown
that must have washed over, feeding in the foam line at the bubbler run
eddy. He described it as a battleship - battering the normal sized fish out
of the way when he wanted to get something.

I don't usually do subtle. Thought I'd give it a shot ;-)

See what happens when you fix a leaky infrastructure?
The trout fishing goes all to hell! ;-)

Just last night one of the local tv news shows featured the "filled to the
brim" state of the Quabbin, remarking that water was actually "flowing over
the spillway!" like it was an unheard of phenomenon.

I bet the river is slammed today...

I have the same problem. The news source probably limits the size of file
attachments...

I use the following, it's a little clunky but works in a pinch.

I put a small (22KB) image up on abpf. If you can retrieve that successfully ,
your conjecture is likely correct - or you've frogged up your reader ;-)

Cheers
