See a lot of comments ensuring you have appropriate footwear when rock
fishing, any suggestions ?

Needs to be a good fit - no sloppiness - and have some ankle protection.
Must grip on your local rocks - which might mean studs or maybe felt but
most likely rubber - depending on the rock type.

Slipperiness will vary with the season (weedgrowth) and weather.

As ever, Derek M give sound advice.

I would also suggest you avoid wellies. The grip might be ok, but you dont
get a good feel of the ground underfoot, and the high leg can get in the way
when you need to be nimble. Consider the ankle boots made by trainer
manufactorers - Hi Tec etc. Usually water resistant, rarely waterproof (but
then you are not intending to fall in, nor go rock hopping in rain), and
salt water ruins them after a season or so. But they are light, comfy, and a
good allrounder; you can pick them up from £15 - £60. Watch out for 'hiking'
shoes and boots - the soles are designed to be quite stiff and rigid, which
you do not want (but not so far as they are sloppy, as Derek says)
