Double Whopper with dropper
The Bozeman Daily Chronicle ran a Bob Jacklin story this
morning, about a 30" 10lb brown Bob caught on a March Brown (nymph) Green Rock Worm dropper rig, near Cabin Creek on the upper Madison, while filming a TV show. The Chronicle ran a photo of the fish, but not on their online version of the story. The film will air on two shows: Angling Adventures and Rocky Mountain Fishing. Nice fish Bob. Couldn't happen in to a nicer guy. http://bozemandailychronicle.com/art.../20bigfish.txt http://montana-riverboats.com/Pages/...b_Jacklin.html http://www.jacklinsflyshop.com/ |

Interesting side note:
I watched my buddy Patrick catch a 27-1/2" 10 pounder (a shorter but heavier fish than Bob Jacklin's) at the very same spot, about 10-12 years ago. It was late March. We skinny skiied in over hard packed spring snow to get there. We spent about five hours there and got one hit between the two of us. But it was a good one. |

Any wat to get a look otherwise? May be if you know where you can find the site/s listing upcoming events for their shows? |

Looks like a dead link now.........the Chronicle must not keep their
news stories online for long. It made me smile, to find myself living in a town where a big fish story could make a big splash on the front page of the local newspaper. Lot's of 10lb fish get caught around here, but they're usually caught on bait, rather than nymphs and a light weight flyrod, and never ever before in front of a bank of TV cameramen. That was the amazing part. Bob Jacklin really is an uncommonly genuine generous and friendly guy. So sometimes things do line up the right way. |
