What's best for Lake Trout?

Hi:

Next weekend we're going to try our hand for lake trout at NY's
Papacton Reservoir and I wonder what the Lake Trout Garu's would
recomend?
I hear that umbrella rigs with spoon's trolled with lead (type) line
does pretty good, what about Rapalas Deep Tail Dancer's or how about
Rapalas Jigging Shad Raps when we're too tired from pulling at the
oars?

I would appreciate any pointers.

Regards.

The only thing that has ever consistently worked for me is live bait
on either copper or lead line. Put a dodger or a spoon or two ahead
of it to attract attention.

I hear Clear Lake Wobblers are the rage here for trolling. Marty CNY
