They say that the two happiest days of owning a boat is the day you buy it,
and the day you sell it. That's aint exactly true...

While Brandon (aka: Inky) was extremely happy this morning as Steve and I
were giving him boating lessons, I quietly felt as though I was losing a
small part of me. It wasn't a happy day for me, even though I was ready to
sell my belived Nitro. I was happy to see it going to someone who I felt
would take care of it, and I have to say that Brandon is one lucky son of a
gun.

1. He picked up a sweet boat at a great price...
2. Is going to have Steve Huber as a father in law...
3. Has a wife-to-be that, while expecting a baby, let's him make a boat
purchase...

He's going to be a happy man all the way around. I liked him as soon as I
met him.

As for me... I'm not totally out of fishing, but will be taking a little
break from it for awhile. My wife and kids are already telling me that my
next boat is going tobe a pontoon boat, but I'm not too sure about that.
Afterall... I'm the one who will be paying for it. I also plan on taking
Joe, Terry, and Jack up their offers to fish with them, but only when I feel
desperate about wanting to catch some fish. It will be interesting being a
non-boater for awhile, but next weekend I'll be taking possesion of a 2006
Honda Shadow VLX Deluxe that ought to make up for what I've given up.

My Mom says it's mid-life crisis... I'm almost convinced.

Goodbye Nitro...

Hmmm. You sure you can't take a weekend trip to Pennsylvania? I'll
make sure you have that "I caught some good fish" feeling for a while
when you leave

How long is that drive? Can I make a long weekend of it?

You know I want to!

Oh yeah... I was telling Joe, just the other night, how Lake Barkley spoiled
me...

Mapquest to Long Pond P.A. bring Joe and video camera. We can start
with some Friday night fishing, followed by early morning Saturday
fishing continued by Saturday night fishing then a small Sunday morning
tourney ending at about 12 noon. Your off and running home and back
late Sunday night. I have two boats, two motors and two batteries so
all would be well. would be a great time to throw them SW buzzbaits
towards some 5-7 pounders. But hey who wants to catch that many fish
anyway? :-)

Pontoon boats are clumsy, inelegant, pseudo-watercraft. I
would avoid them at all costs, especially if you plan to
fish moving water because in moving water the damn things
are downright dangerous.

If you ever find yourself in this neck of the woods, (at
the intersection of I57, I74, & I72) let me know and I'll
let you take a stab at bass fishing from a canoe.

You'll love it Charles, but you have to promise to leave "Herman" (my 7
Pounder) alone. Only problems are, the motels aren't cheap.

I feel for you Charles. After the Canada trip I posted on ABPF I was about
ready to hang it up. Then Joe H put it all in perspective and I ready to
fish again. I do want to make the Northwoods Classic. I just need to let my
wife recover from this last trip. She was more upset than me by far. Joe Z.
