Im very clear water I would start with natural translucent colors like
Natural Shad or Baby Bass.

I might alos look at some faster baits for covering water quickly.

I don't fish with hula grubs so I can't speak about them. I do fish Senkos
alot lately. In clear water choose colors that either look like a real worm or
a baitfish. I like colors like red, red shad, cinnamon, pumpkin seed, etc. as
they represent worms and nightcrawlers very well. I have also had pretty good
success with the color Yamamoto calls Blue pearl/silver flake. I think this
color looks like the side or belly of a minnow or other baitfish.
