What is rod action "L". The rod does not appear to be a lite action
rod. It appears to be more on the heavy side.

Dave... Don't you know L is for large. Now if it was an XL it would
be worth something,

Checked the rod on the internet. It is listed as medium. It is rated
for line to 20lb test so I doubt if it would be lite action. I
purchased the rod in any case. If it proves to be defective I will
return it. Thanks

Fishtale, if the rod were mislabeled by the manufacturer, then it was just
that /mislabeled.

A medium rod is tested at no more than 15-17 lb. test. At 20lb. test you
begin to border on med/hvy action. If it proves to be defective it will be
because of the angler not the rod blank. JMHO!

Most rods manufactured after Jan. 2006 are using the new international
standard
lettering to avoid any confusion by the consumer. Rods are sold
according to the following letters, M, F, L and LB. In order, those
letters stand for Minnow, Fingerling, Lunker and Lying *******.

There is some confusion in that the rod is labelled lite but the line
rating indicates a medium. With that labelling a big fish could be
overplayed or underplayed. That could either be hard on the fish or the
rod. I like the rod but i sure would like to know for sure it's true
action.

If you need a label to tell you how stiff or soft your rod is, you
really need help.
