Any word from Steve??
"Charles B. Summers" wrote in message . .. I was thinking about calling him... but didn't know if he was still in the hospital. Well, you know how they say "No good deed goes unpunished?" It's true. I had ANOTHER stent placed in my heart (total now three) on Thursday morning. Everything was uneventful and I was released Friday morning. Some friends of ours, Janet and I were going to spend a nice quiet weekend away from everything at a lakeside resort, north of Rhinelander near the small town of Mercer. Everyone thought it was a great idea, the weather was supposed to be nice, the place is beautiful and the doctor said I could even fish if I took it easy. It was a great plan.... I was released from the hospital to Janet's care and we went home, packed a small bag, hooked up the boat and away we went to Mercer. We were the first ones to arrive and before long, the rest of our friends showed up. There was grilling of food, laughter, a little fishing (two bass and a muskie in the 45" class followed my lure to the boat twice) and generally just having a great time as night fell. Well, there was no way we could pass up a lakeside fire, there was a firepit and even wood nicely stacked. So, with the help of a little "Boy Scout Water", I soon had a merry little blaze going. Janet poured her first adult beverage of the evening and came down the steps to join us at the fire. That's where things went bad. I heard this sound like someone falling, looked up in time to see Janet falling! It's amazing how some things just don't sound like anything else. Racing over (well, hobbling as fast as I could), I began to examine her. Her right ankle was swelling quite amazingly fast, but she could still move her foot, toes, had feeling and pulses, but her left ankle..... That one felt like a bag of nuts and bolts when she tried to move it, plus she had diminished sensation and pulses in that foot. So, we loaded her up and took her to the hospital. X-rays revealed three fractures with some displacement. She was given pain-killers and made as comfortable as possible. I made it home at 2:30 this morning. She is in surgury right now where they are going to be putting pins and plates in her ankle to hold things together till they heal. Dang, somedays it just doesn't pay to get out of bed! -- Steve @ OutdoorFrontiers http://www.outdoorfrontiers.com G & S Guide Service and Custom Rods http://www.herefishyfishy.com |

Dang Steve... when it rains it pours. Guess the two of you just need to pack
your bags, hitch the boat and come down here so Teresa can mend the two of you. Joe and I, well... we'll take care of the boat while you're here. No resting for you now buddy... take care of Janet. Or... how about a nice little French maid? (If you find one... hell, I'm coming up there!) "Steve @ OutdoorFrontiers" wrote in message ... "Charles B. Summers" wrote in message . .. Wow Steve, that is truly horrible. Well like they say for every door that
closes another opens, so hopefully some good fortune is heading your way soon soon soon. I'll keep you and yours in my prayers. Now you two stop trying to out do each other ya hear, it will only end up with a close combat knife fight in the living room and you probably think your better with a knife than Janet is, just remember women probably use knives more in a month then most men do in a year :-) Take care and both of you get better. My little guy still wants to meet the "Musky Man" :-) |
