TR: E. Carson River

Went up to friends at Bear Valley for a couple of days. Did a little
fishing in Silver Creek and the E. Carson river on the way over to
Gardnerville, NV for some Basque food. Silver Creek, showed NADA, did not
see a fish even. Furthur down the road, broke out the rod for some E.
Carson. Dang, put in the wrong rod tube, had the 8 wt. Still, hooked one
about 1# and lost it after a few minutes. Nothing else. Couple of nice
ones jumping for bugs, but id not want what I had. Couple of maybe 3#'ers
in the pool. #20 elk hair caddis and #16 Prince. The one hooked was on the
Prince, and also tried a wooly bugger I had for Apine lake. Did not fsih
Alpine, as the wind was rippin'.

Recommend a place to go in Gardnerville for Basque chow.

Thanks.

JT's or the Country Club. Both good food, better ambience at JT's. Fixed
price for all dinners. About $23 per person total. Includes a bottle of
wine.
