I just found one of my fly boxes....
We moved back in December, and there are still stacks of boxes down the
hallway. While looking for a Windows XP Upgrade disc I ran across my box of trout flies. I haven't even looked at it in ages. (No trout around here.) Anyway, I gave it a good look over and realized something. I have no clue when or where to use half those flies. I sure was proud of that box when I got it though. In fact I think the only fly in it that I really rocked with was a honey bee pattern that is somewhere up in the top of an oak tree in Oak Creek Canyon. I wonder. Is there some kind of general guide to basic patterns that I might be able to use to figure out the when and where of what I've got? I've got a couple other boxes of newer bass streamers and bigger poppers. I know where to use most of those. Streamers and minnow patterns make great drop shot baits. LOL. Seriously some basic of time of year or region for the standards would be really cool. -- Bob La Londe Fishing Arizona & The Colorado River Fishing Forums & Contests http://www.YumaBassMan.com -- Posted via a free Usenet account from http://www.teranews.com |
