IM6 deterioration over time?
On Oct 13, 12:40 pm, Steve wrote: I was putting away a rod built around 12 years ago and noticed that the tip section has a curve in it that had not been there the last time I used the rod. This rod was built from a Winston IM6 blank, FWIW. I checked to see if the spline had been positioned wrong, and it's not. The curve is to the left. The rod is stored in a tube when not in use, standing on end. The tube is racked in my den, so it hasn't been exposed to any extreme temperatures. What could the cause be? Does IM6 break down over time? Damn it, I liked this rod. The tip is curved? It may be you have the Bill Clinton signature model, also known as the Peyronie Special. Sorry, couldn't resist. |
