Another Cab-O-Sil question

rw has posted that Cab-O-Sil TS-720 is the "right stuff" and he often seems
to be right about the right,

but,

MY question is where is it available in small quantities? I've searched
but found only industry suppliers that sell only industrial quantities. I
have found small quantities of the "wrong stuff" ( hydrophilic ) Cab-O-Sil
available as resin thickeners but

WHERE ? can I get just a quart or so of Cab-O-Sil TS-720 ?

He's not wrong, he's just not all-inclusive. When I posted the Cabot
link/info, I didn't say that they were the ONLY supplier, it's just they
are among the better-known. And it's not just that particular product,
nor must it be from Cabot ("Cab-O-Sil" line), it is, generically,
_hydrophobic_ fumed silica. Try searching/asking for that rather than a
particular Cabot product. There will be sources of it in smaller
quantities.

I don't share the obsession many here appear to have for
cleverly getting fly fishing products on the cheap. Some
of the same folks who bemoan the demise of the local fly
shop will go to great lengths to avoid paying five bucks
for a bottle of Frog's Fanny.

Buy the Frog's Fanny you cheap *******s !!

Or for being a cheap substitute for a human being, for that matter?

who, obviously, knows the answer better than most.......but let's see
if he does. :)

I've got nothing against bargain hunters, but how do folks manage
to get it into the bottle? (I assume you use an old Frog's Fanny
bottle or something similar.) That stuff won't even hold still
getting it *out* of the bottle.....

JR
(who confesses to, among other things, buying Amadou in large
sheets from foreign suppliers in order to save a little money...)

HAH !! Nobody, least of all my ownself, needs an excuse to
buy and drink the King of Beers. Budweiser is one fine brew
and you can put *that* in your bippy and smoke it ! ;-)

OK, I confess to having bought three large sheets of Amadou
from Switzerland myself. But, and this is a big But, living
in East Central piddle**** I have no local fly shop and the
online fly shops I frequent, Uncle Wally's ezflyfish and
Feather Craft in St. Louis, don't carry Amadou.

FWIW, a large sheet of Amadou can be cut into 4 pieces of the
right size for stuffing into a vest pocket. So I figure I now
have a 12 year supply, but I always end up giving some away.
