Well, It is just about Over
 

It is just getting worse. You can count on one hand the number of times I
have had the opportunity to fish since the season opener, and to top it off,
I broke my 7' spinning rod by leaning on it in the car. It's guaranteed for
life, so its no big deal, but it is representative of how things are going
as far as fishing.

Life in general is great!!! I'm just too busy to fish right now, which is a
good thing financially, and a bad thing for the old psyche. Being on the
water has such a calming effect on me. Well, next weekend I will be next to
the water as I will be in the local Strawberry Parade -- showing off some of
the dealership's new custom vehicles (Grand Prix Pace Car, Tricked out GTO,
and a Custom Denali Pickup painted to match the bass boat it will be
pulling). So while my friends will be on the water fishing, I will be on
the shore hopefully selling a few of those custom rigs to the next
generation of bass anglers. Southern Comfort does a great job at
customizing our rigs!

I've also decided my dream of going pro is just about over, well, at least
until both of my girls are out of college (8-years from now). They both
have 4.0 GPAs, and both want to go to the better New England Schools. So at
$58K+ a year, money and making a lot of it, is far more important for their
future. Let them live their dreams first, and then I can live my later
(hopefully!). Well if you don't see me posting, at least you will know why.
Well back to the grind stone working on presentation materials.

What can we say Craig, hope it isn't as bad as it seems. There's an old
Eagles song, Dream never dies just the dreamer. Keep the dream strong dude!
You never know what tomorrow holds! Maybe a lotto windfall, an offer better
than you currently hold, buck up mate, five to ten years is not so long,
you'll be back in the front seat before you know it!! I know quite a few
who make in 300K+ per annum and who are still not as happy as you! They
have never known what bass fishing can be but we do, don't we? I haven't
been able to say if I can actually make it bass fishing to the lake this
year either as my wife has some trouble with her neck, arms and hand. Even
though she says go I just can't, it just isn't the same without her.
Luckily I have a friend with an outrageously stocked private lake with some
good size bass in it within a couple of minutes close to my house. We can
still have fun, even though!

Well, It is just about Over
 

I haven't been out bass fishing either since the season is closed until the end
of this month. I have targeted other species (open season) and refuse to let
things get in the way of my fishing agenda. I know lads that will fish for
three days without any shut eye. I took today off oon account of being in a bit
of a slump. Stony operates under the same rules as me as far as bass fishing. .

WHAT "Better New England Schools," Craig????? Ivy league professors have
their heads as far up their @sses as our resident troll. They all say &
think they are great, but that sure as hell don't make it so. You live in
Michigan, where the schools are as good (& screwed-up) as any. Keep 'em
there.

Craig, this is your lamest "So Long ROFB" I've seen you post yet.

I'll tell you something, when it comes to posting here you have two
kinds of posts:

!) Here's some really excellent advice on how anyone can be a better
fisherman

2) My life is so complicated I can't fish and so I'm leaving ROFB.

Dude, get a grip: do you want to fish pro?, stop talking and get going.
You have the "smarts" I read it in your posts. Do you have the ability?
I think so, I don't think you could know as much as you do without
having caught a LOT of fish.

If your daughters are really as smart as you write -- and can get into
some New England school, the worst thing you can do as a parent is pay
their way. Make them figure out how to do it. Teach them to be masters
of their own fate, not a slave to someone else' checkbook.

I write this as a fan of your advice --- quit whining and start winning.
Your example is teaching them more about life than your money ever will.

Same advice goes for anyone else. LIFE IS ABOUT CHOICES. We all have
the same 24 hours each day, what we chose to do with them is a choice.


We'll see you the next time you join back in - hopefully with a report
of a tourney or two you've won......and what the rest of us can do to
fish better.
