Tired Trout Question
I'd research this, but I need to give someone an answer about a weekend
fishing plan by lunch time today. This guy wants to hit a few Finger Lakes (NY) tributaries this weekend, for whatever's spawning at the moment. My understanding (which you are welcome to dismember) is that these fish are going to be either tired & skinny, or close to death. I'm not sure (yet) if we're dealing with rainbows, browns, lake trout, or what. Is it even worth fishing for them, if the goal is dinner? |

Most spawning streams contain both spawning fish and other species that follow them to feed on the spawn -- themselves spawning at other times of the year. -- Don Phillipson Carlsbad Springs (Ottawa, Canada) |

If the goal is fishies for dinner, might I suggest a tuna sammitch? HTH, R ....heck, grab a Phillay O' Phish at the window of the nearest Mickey D's and you don't even need to get out of the car!!! |
