Ranger Reata 180 VS with a Johnson 115
I was considering purchasing a Ranger Reata 180VS with a Johnson 115
outboard. I currently have a Ranger 350V with a Johnson 115 (it's 20 years old). I haven't had any problems with it with one exception: it wouldn't pull my fat ass up out of the water on a wakeboard. The wakeboard was a $90 piece of crap from Wal-Mart. And I've only wakeboarded once so I'm hoping that that was the problem, not the 115 motor. Anyone else have a Reata 180VS with a 115 HP motor on it. If so, what is your evaluation of it? Thanks in advance for any help anyone can provide. |

I doubt the problem was ever your boat or motor but the pitch of your
propeller. Most bass boats have a prop set up for maximum speed at the expense of low end power. If you get a prop with a 15 or 17 inch pitch I bet you could pull a few fat asses out of the water, but your only going to hit 40 or so top speed. Rich P "Rick B." wrote in message om... You don't think the problem could be your fat ass do you?
