Well Mr Makela
The only one I am sure of is one in a place called
Coburn Pa (you can goggle penns clave for prior claves) A few fine
flyfishermen get together and drink eat and fish all day and into
darkness.....The dates for the 2007 clave are somewhere around the 19th
of May thru the 27th......You can contact Hemlock Acres for lodgeing or
a few other fine estabishments in the Coburn area to include the Penns
Angler somewher around Laurelton Pa at the intersection of route 45 and
sr2030 which with any kind of luck will be open recieving guest and
selling some of the finest flies and fishing equipment for the area
along with information on what flies to use at any time of the day or
night ( shamless plug ).........Clave central is a trailer in Hemlock
acres I think site 56 or 82 maybe something else when we get back there
in April........ Sir Thomas Littleton is the clavemiester he brings
along with his 6' 7" frame a knowledge (sp) uncanny of the area and can
be persuaded to part with a fly or two for a Yuengling Lager (damn
lush) all in all it is a fine time had by all if you are interested in
attending just show up if you need directions they can be atained by
asking bring along a few dozen friends as we always say the more the
merrier and we will keep the left over beer for you so you don't get
pinched on your way home after a week of excellant fishing fine food
and most of all comraderie................................

You make it sound so tempting! If only I had been born independently
wealthy!

Sounds like a fine Clave, indeed. I'll have to check it out.

Are there any fish thereabouts?

Yo Mike... On Monday the 18th I'll know the future of Penns Creek
Angler. Check the website on Tuesday and you'll see a very sad or very
happy announcement. I'd say there are fish about, I'll post a report
after this weekend. We had the best water levels in years and 2007
should be fantastic with a good spawn. I wish I could have opened the
shop this past season. At any rate I have a certain fly tyer with a 6ft
7 inch frame that we all know very well doing 60 dz flies, another
great guy doing 30 dz and I'll add another 50dz to the mix so there
will be no shortage of flies. I'll also have a special supply of Green
Drakes tied by the master Mike Marcinek who was taught to tie the
pattern by George Harvey. If you want to see something special checkout
the front page on the website, its an October Caddis #8. What a
beautiful Fly.
