Suggestions for building a fly fishing space

I have the opportunity to build a dream fly fishing room, and I'd love
your input.

I live in a tiny apartment in NYC, and to this point have stuffed all
my fly fishing gear into a closet after every trip. Now, I'm building
a weekend home on the upper East Branch of the Delaware river, and I'm
planning on dedicating one room - or at least a portion of a room - to
store / house / display everything fly fishing-related.

I'd like to hear how you all use and organize your fly fishing spaces,
and what you'd do differently if you could start from scratch.

Here's what I've I'd imagine I'd need -- a place to:

- hang rods
- drawers / bins for reels
- drawers / bins for fly lines
- drawers / bins for countless accessories (leaders, floats, weights,
dressings, nips, etc etc etc)
- drawers / bins for fly boxes and/or flies
- some sort of drying area for waders, boots, jackets, etc.
- storage for waders, boots, jackets
- shelves for books (a lot of these)
- a table to work on equipment
- basic fly tying table (I only tie infrequently, but I imagine I might
do more now that I'll have a 'home base')

One thing: I'm not sure what I should do about the 'drying area' -
whether that should be outside, for example. Living in NYC, to this
point I've just hung my wet, muddy waders out the window to dry.
Effective, at least on sunny days, but messy.)

I've imagined some other fun things: a long mounted styrofoam strip on
a wall, where I could arrange flies for my one little section of the
river, by hatch and season. I also imagine I'll hang a few of the
photos and paintings I've acquired.

What am I missing? What have am I not considering, or thinking of in
the wrong way? Most importantly - what solutions have you come up
with? (If there are any pre-existing furniture or storage solutions
available, I'd also love to hear about those - might save me some $ on
doing custom stuff.)

Thanks ahead of time for your thoughts.

Tim

I've been imagining/planning my "improved" basment/man-room for a
while, and I've planned a little ventilated closet to hang waders, vest
and boots. Its basically a mini-closet that you put a nice heat lamp
and bathroom ventilator in. Just run a duct to the outside to vent the
air and your waders etc should dry out really well.

Here is a fundamental universal truth you can absolutely count on,
Tim:

It will not be big enough.
