I love fishing at night...
Got on the lake tonight about 7:00pm with the winds blowing about 15mph from
the south west. The ski'ers was still out, pleasure boaters running around, and fishing was tough, but when the sun finally went down... I was there almost alone... the winds died down, the lake settled down, and the fish started biting. Caught six or seven bass in the next couple of hours, all shy of the legal 15" minimum. Most were caught on the red shad powerworms, with the remainder on the SW Midnight Snack II spinnerbait with a single #6 Indiana gold blade. Once again, the spinnerbait fish were near lights, and the powerworm fish were deeper in the 10' to 20' area. Why... I don't know. I felt pretty good catching these tonight because a couple of other guys at the ramp that was headed on their way home, (as I was launching) said that no-one was catching anything today. I just smiled and thought to myself that they were leaving at the wrong time. I didn't care though... after dark, I knew the lake would be mine! Further proof that a good set of brains is the first requirement for a

well-stocked tackle box. Well now at least I know what my problem is. -Zimmy |
