scoop on lycoming creek, please?

so, could some of the keystone state denizens give me some info on this
piece of water, from trout run to its headwaters?

my cousin darrius has begun to travel the area in connection with his
lumber business, noticed the stream along highway 14, and has asked me
to get all available info.

Well, I found this:
http://www.answers.com/topic/lycoming-creek
Which led me to this:
http://www.pagameandfish.com/fishing.../pa_aa054403a/

What I get from this all, heavily stocked, but not a lot of public
access.

i read that myself, frank, but thanks for the response. what i am
hoping is that someone like tlitt or one of the two mikes (you
know--the kings of the dynamite caps) might have had some personal
experience with the water.

anybody home?

I know have no more familiarity with Lycoming Creek than a Tar Heel does
with the end zone. I can ask around for you, though, Wayno and get back to
you.......

Not much in the log, took a fly by a few times on the way through to other
destinations, or when aimlessly wandering in search of more good PA water,
waaaaay back when. I do have a note, (and a circle in an old Topo map)
above Gray's Run, up to Roaring Run. The circles on that map indicate good
fishing and spots to return to, that area is right along 14, so I would say
he's on the area. I do know that the further North you go up in North
Central PA, the better the Brook trout fishing is in the small tribs. If he
is from your area, he should wander up some of the tribs to explore.

Lycoming is a freestoner, which can be tough during low water, but we have
had plenty of water the past few years so I would suspect the streams in the
area are quite fertile right now.

There is other fine water in the immediate area, too. Is he staying around
Williamsport, or Loch Haven, or? I could provide some more advice offline
if he's interested in more than just the one area. Right now is about the
worst time to fish in PA, unless he's out for solitude and freezing temps.
I'm sure the fishing can be good if he ventures out, but they won't fight
quite as well, nor have their gullets full.

Drop me a line if you want other info. If he's up for a good stretch he is
in what I would consider trout paradise. Good water in every direction.
