It's official.

After 80 years, the last 20 of them bitterly contentious, the
racist mascot is retired.

The athletic department didn't mind so much losing a few post
season soccer games and tennis matches to the NCAA sanctions
but now that the men's basketball team may be going to the
NIT instead of the NCAA the Chief had to go.

Sorry for your loss, I feel a small pang of nostalgia myself.
