I now most of you guys were planning on coming over and tipping a few but I
have a meeting to go to...this little incident is several miles up stream ...this is the river I fish 'most every summer evening, and quite frankly, it can't handle it... EPA to consider discharge into Stillwater River By Staff report Saturday, February 17, 2007 WEST MILTON, Miami County - A mining company wants to discharge millions of gallons of water per day into the Stillwater River, a proposal to be aired at an Ohio EPA public hearing at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Village Council chambers, 701 S. Miami St. The application from Milton Materials, 7131 Fenner Road, Ludlow Falls, seeks to allow the discharge from two settling ponds to the Stillwater. The company would discharge at most 5.76 million gallons a day from each pond at a sand and gravel quarry. The OEPA said the discharges would not be allowed to exceed chemical-specific water quality standards that protect aquatic life and human health. The additional discharge will result in a change from current water quality conditions in the Stillwater, according to the OEPA. |
