another word for old

Hi All,

I believe John Gierach used a euphemism for getting old and I am
looking for that word. It was in the context of "Not feeling old so
much as ___________".

Can anyone help me out?

Thanks,

TBone

Timmy's obsession.

Timmy's guilt.

Timmy's flagellation.

Timmy's monomania.

Timmy's self-loathing.

Timmy.

Venerable

That a great word!

As in "I got a venerable disease in the Philippines."
