This is something interesting I first saw in the Orvis catalog
of all places. I've since seen it in the Canoecopia magazine
and the people at Rutabaga in Madison are calling it a great
breakthrough in personal fishing watercraft.

What they call "Tunnel Hull" is a catamaran type of hull and
according to the hype you're supposed to be able to stand up
and fish out of this thing.

Anybody ever paddled or seen one of these on the water ?

I'm intrigued. I would love the ability to stand. Been looking at a
pontoon boat with a casting platform, better than the home-grown one
on my Bucks Bronco. A yak/canoe that you can stand it would be real
nice.

Seems to me like it would have high initial stability, but low
ultimate stability. Which means, it feels stable, like it won't go
over, but when you hit that tipping point, you are going over for
sure.

Hull designs are always a trade off in that respect, it really depends
on what you want.

The really cool model they have over there is the Compass / Wee Lassie
copy designed by Rushton, now that is a beauty!

Very cool. I showed it to some folks at work and they were writing
down the URL.
Then again, that opening and closing ass end is downright obscene.
