luninous white albino eels
I was diving in Wast Water, Wasdale, Cumbria and found thousands of
weird bright white eels about a foot to a foot and a half long. Twas a night dive and our approaching torches made the eels stick their head into the mud to avoid our light. They didn't have any fin on thier back as i remember. Any one any idea what they could be? I thought these could be some ancient fish trapped along with the Artic Char in Cumrias deep waters or are they just another wierd Lamprey type creature? I didn't notice if they had teeth or even a jaw. Any feedback most welcome. Dave |

About now there are spawning migrations of river lampreys which might answer the description. Scattered my dads ashes there last year, it was one of his favourite places. -- Cheerz - Brownz http://www.brownz.org/ |
