Single action reel question..
Got a single action reel the other day on a trade. Noticed that there
seems to be more resistance on the drag reeling line in then reeling the other direction or the stripping direction. Is this something that evens out or is that normal? can I adjust the pointer? I know silly ridiculous questions but this one is unused and rock solid frame and wobble wise ....have only used disc drags and they are not necessary where I fish...wanted to make sure it was adjusted properly before I cast my fly directly into a tree 10 yards away.... thanks Brian |

Many of the click type drags are reversible if you remove the spool...there is a triangular piece of metal that can be put in another orientation. George |

Is the drag adjustable? It would help if you mention the mfg/model of the reel... /daytripper Shakespeare 1094... do I need to remove the triangle pin or just adjust it. I use a left hand retrieve and it is probably set for a right hand... thanks for the replies. Brian |

The "drag" is a simple on-off affair, no adjustment needed ;-) but their web site claims it is reversible. http://www.shakespeare-fishing.com/p...ducts.php?p=53 I haven't found anything that tells *how* to do it. If all else fails, contact Shakespeare "800-347-3759 and ask for the Service Center. Operating hours are 8 to 4:45 East Coast time. Or write to Shakespeare Service Center, 3801 Westmore Drive, Columbia, SC 29223 or email " Cheers /daytripper- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - Think I got it. I reversed the click spring so it and it now reels in easier and pulls out with more resistance.. thanks for the tips.. Janus |
