Going to spend 10 days on a house boat in early August--will be towing a
bass boat and a canoe for fishing. I normally fish in mountain creeks for
trout with a fly rod and a small pond for bass with fly rod and spinning
gear----what should I expect to encounter on this trip ? Anyone been there
?

Northerns, walleye, smallmouth, crappie, perch, bluegill, etc. Once in
a while some herring like fish such as a cisco etc. Your not supposed
to chatch them but given a week you may. Also Mosquitos, deerflys, no-
see-ums.
Take lots of bug dope and some head nets etc.
Take wire leaders and big flys for the notherns.
Take plenty of flour, corn meal, and oil. You shoud be able to eat
fish till you feel gills forming behind your ears. A case of reisling
would be a good move IMO.
Take your tribal idenity card. You may be able to limit out on wild
rice. You should get many pictures of moose, many birds, maby a bear.
Keep an eye out on the shore for blueberries. The wild ones are great
in pancakes, You will pay for them in blood.
Your lucky, I am jealous.

Heavy weight rod (9-10) and big flys for the Northern. Get in touch
with Chas Wade. For the Bass, a 6-8 weight rod and Regular bass flys.
Not much chance of catching Walleye and other fish on the fly.
Good luck and have a great time.
