Boat stalls

I posted a week or so ago about my 1997 johnson 200hp stalling, well I
put it in a shop near a lake I was fishing, they put two new coils on
it, said I had weak spark on two cylinders, cost $ 138.00. Got it back
and it still stalls out. I put it in a defferent shop, they installed a
new power pack, starts up good runs out good and then dies after about a
half mile, then stars back up after I pump the primer bulb, the last
marina installed a new hose and bulb.

Plugged tank vent? Bad ball? Air leak in line? Bad fuel pump?

If the tank is built-in it might be a triangular shaped thing on the
side of the boat near the fuel filler. Some are built in to the filler
and don't vent overboard. Look here...

Sounds like neither of the shops you carried it to had a clue what was wrong
other than to make some kind of repair to make it run 5 minutes in house and
then magically "its fixed"....

When you pump the primer bulb after the engine stops is the bulb soft or
still has pressure in it? If soft I'd say you have an air leak in the
fuel delivery system some place other then the new primer bulb or new
line. If bulb is hard still sounds like the fuel system some place. Have
you changed the filter, maybe bad fuel pump. Take it to a shop that has
an engine dyno and a scope and they can find the problem in a short
time. When the engine stops does it sputter like out of fuel or just
die? Will do more checking around, this stuff interests me. Good luck..

I took it back to the last marina that installed the new power pack, I
had a marine tech. go out on the lake with me, he drove the boat and it
started to sputter, he had me pump the primer bulb, and it started
running normal, we did that a few more times and he said I have a bad
fuel pump. I just put that on last july, over $1500.00 in the last year
on that stupid boat.

I would tell them to install a pump for free. As the expensive power pack
that they said would cure the problem did not.
