Oh yeah, Steve Bernard, don't read this, as it is likely to annoy you!

Donīt know why I should bother to help you, considering your
gratuitous insults, but if you want something that works, then just
download thunderbird;

You can set it up so that it looks and works like OE, but without any
of the problems. It has a spell checker, but I have never used it.

Hmm...

I read the MS newsgroup that deals with OE almost daily, and Tinyspell is
easily the most oft-recommended third party app. The guy whose writing I'm
blatantly copying and pasting below is one of the "gurus" over there, and
here he's responding to essentially your initial question:

"Office 2007 breaks OE's spell check. Downloading a free spell check is the
simplest way around this.

Vampirefo:

TinySpell:
http://www.tinyspell.m6.net/ (Checks the spelling as you type).

If you have a previous version of Office, see this:

If you have access to the server (msnews.microsoft.com) point OE to:
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer,ie6_outlooke xpress

Maybe someone there will be able to help. (?)
