Convex and/or Double Taper leaders

Anyone ever experiment with compound tapered leaders? What are they
supposed to do that a straight taper fails to provide? Conditions under
which one is warranted? Experiences? I was playing around with Leader Calc
today, tying up some fresh stock for next season and for the winter striper
fishery on the Ohio R. and noticed formulae for these exotics in the chart
but I have never even seen a discussion of them.

TIA

Convex and/or Double Taper leaders

Joe,
I have come across them also, but never tried them. I am a firm believer in
"If it's not broke don't fix it." My old leader formulas always served me
quite well. :)
