Deep Cycle Batteries

has anyone ever added acid to their trolling motor batteries? if so did
it help them charge better, and do I need to drain some the water out
that is already there. My batteries don't hold charge as long as they
should.

Yes, if they are low you should add distilled water to bring them up above
the level of the plates. Usually so there is just a little bit of air in
each cell.

Certainly if they are low filling them up properly would be better.

NO. That is a water sulfuric acid solution. Draining them would reduce the
acidity of the solution. That would be bad. Just add distilled water to
bring them up to the right level.

My batteries don't hold charge as long as they
should.

How old are they?
