When fishing Flukes I find the way the line comes off the eye of the hook makes a difference. If the knot is on top of the eye it makes the fluke go up, on the bottom it goes down. A lot of folks use a fairly big swivel about 18 inches ahead of the bait to keep it down, and there are weighted hooks that help. Ronnie http://fishing.about.com |

I had a non-boater fishin Yuma Pro Am with me earlier this year and he had a short fast snap that didn't seem to cause the baits to surface the way they typically do. He was snapping the rod to very very fast and frequently, but the travel was very small. It seemed to work for him. -- Bob La Londe Fishing Arizona & The Colorado River Fishing Forums & Contests http://www.YumaBassMan.com -- Posted via a free Usenet account from http://www.teranews.com |

In addition to weighted hooks, you can also crimp a rubberless rubber core
sinker onto the hook shank. "BIG FISH 2006" wrote in message ...
