Anyone tried www.pandora.com ?

Great background music for whatever you are doing. You name the
artists and the station takes care of the rest. I've heard a Brubeck
album that I didn't know existed. It was recorded before Paul Desmond
died, but never remastered/released until fairly recently. And, it's
free. Ahmad Jamal now playing "Misty".

Doesn´t lugging all that computer stuff to the stream hurt your back?

Unfortunately, they have discontinued sending their feed outside the
US (at least to HK) for copyright reasons. I miss it...

If you want to listen to it, just use proxy.

Good stuff, I've used it on and off for a while. Introduces you to
stuff you might like based on similarities to what you specify and
continually tailors itself based on whether you approve or decline its
suggestions. It can be frustrating if it starts to drift but the
selection of music is pretty impressive.

This one works, just type the URL in

http://www.webwarper.net/

so will many others. All they do is check IP adresses, and if you use
a proxy inside the US for instance, there are no restrictions.

Interesting, I've heard of the Ahmad Jamal Trio and Misty, but didn't
know the ties to Brubeck.

Sounds pretty great. Alas, my PC has decided it doesn't want to give
me audio output anymore. Can't figure out why. I've done all the
obvious stuff right up to re-installing the sound card drivers.
Nothing.

If anybody wants to solve this one for me, here's what I know. I have
no audio to the speakers and no audio to the headphone jack. Nothing
is muted in the volume control. There are no error states shown in
the Device Manager.

I do know that it will record and process audio using Audacity and
Vegas Movie Studio, because I can transfer the files to other PCs and
play them fine there.

I suspect I'm headed for a new audio card, but I haven't gotten around
to that yet.
