The camera got wet some time ago, and there is still condensation
trapped in the camera. I am working to remedy the situation.

It's not going to work, Chris. Buy another camera identical to the one
your wife gave you. Don't tell her about it. You owe it to those
magnificent fish. :-)

Try an Olympus all-weather series digital camera like the Stylus 710. I've
picked mine up from the bottom of the boat where it was sloshing around in
water, snapped off a photo or two, put it back in my damp PFD pocket, and
carried it around in an outside pocket or left it on the boat deck during
rain storms, and I've never had a bit of moisture trouble with it. If I put
it in an inside pocket, then the surface of the lens cover fogs up as I
bring it out into cool, damp air, so I leave it in an exterior pocket or
exposed to the elements. Supposedly it resists water infiltration down to a
meter, but it wasn't intended for under-water use.

This is my second Olympus all-water Stylus camera. The first - a 3 Megapixel
model -- broke when I tossed it to someone who didn't catch it, but the
gaskets still worked fine after two years of pretty constant use outdoors.

I agree, I need to do something about the camera, I think I may be
losing a little of the experience because of that moisture. I will try
a few of the drying techniques before this coming weekend.

Dude you can probably buy any old digital cam on craigslist for $50 and
it will blow all those pictures away. You are simply not doing the fish
justice, and you are catching some great looking fish I'll bet.

I have my cam in a bag of rice as we speak :-). I am buying silica
packets tonight. Hahaha. The camera was a gift from my wife, she'd be
heart broken if I ruined it. But, this is definitely the last effort. If
it still isn't working, it won't go fishing anymore.

It's a little pricey, but it's a great fishing camera -- waterproof. I
wish it had more of a wide angle for scenery shots.

I've got the same camera and I agree it's a great fishing camera.

Take multiple shots with about 20% overlap and then stitch them together with
something like PTGui.

I have the Olympus 720
I dont know the difference from the 710
It is 10 megapixels
I take it wading and have had no problems even when wet

A brighter screen would be a plus, but what would be a much bigger plus,
IMO, would be an optical viewfinder. I'd gladly sacrifice the screen
altogether in favor of a viewfinder. It would work fine in bright light
and would consume no power.
