Thank you THANK YOU (thank you) Thank You (thankyouthankyou...)

....to each of you who contributed to the HK Fly donation The flies
arrived today, and I am just giddy with appreciation, and I can't wait
until I hand them out to the kids at the next meeting.

In addition to the 6 types I had put on the wish list (2 dries, 2
nymphs, 2 streamers), another huge pile of assorted flies arrived, and
they all look wonderful! My initial order of 15 dozen flies has
swelled to over 55 dozen! Wow!

I'm going to hand out the original 6 types to help the kids get
familiar with the different types of flies and how to fish them, but
when we are in NZ I will break out the others a few at a time to they
can add them to their stashes. The few that are too large to be
handled with a 5-wt I will set up in some fly boxes for 'awards' to
the kids who really show a love and affinity for the sport.

As promised, I will certainly explain to them that a gang of
passionate fishermen have pitched in to make this happen for them.
I'll have Harry send me the names and addresses of anyone who
contributed so that I can send you a personal thank-you note from the
me and the kids.

I really really appreciate that you guys did this. Thank you!!

Myron

Happy to hear they arrived. I thought it would be months, not weeks.

A hint about Harry's Killer Caddis: Some kind of desiccant will be
needed to dry the cdc after cathing a fish. I use Frog's Fanny, but a
less expensive kind will also work. However, fished like a wet fly,
this dry fly is an excellent lure.

Good luck, Myron. I envy your challenge.

A very special thanks to Harry for arranging this.

Dave

Myron,
Somewhere along the line, I think I missed this original post, or
something.
The next time you are getting kids into fishing and need a few flies
could I ask you to send me an email?

I have really been so busy that I haven't just sat down to read
through all the new posts here and everything. I am painfully behind
on the NGs I like. I do however check my email daily.

I have... literally thousands of flies in the shop, and I spend more
time than is healthy tying, so next time I could spare some flies as
well for a good cause.

Tim is my friend Tim Emory, who runs Maine Path and Paddle with Dave
Butler . Their warehouse (and Dave's house) is about a mile from your
shop, on Easter Avenue (just off River Road). I figured since they
are both fly fishermen they might frequent your business. I drive up
Rt 361 all the time when I'm back home in Maine...I'll be sure to drop
by next time I'm back in the states, and I'll tell Tim to stop in and
say 'hello' in the meantime.

yeah that would be great!
We would love to meet them!

Have them bring over some flyers or something we can trade flyers and
support each others business.

We are going to do a fly tying club too where we just dump our TON of
tying material in the middle of the table and each person pays $5 with
a vise and something like $8 without a vise and we all just hang out,
drink coffee and tie flies. When we are done we all swap so no one
goes home with a fly they tied.

Would be great if you or they wanted to join us for any of that sort
of stuff too.
