The chemo I was on wasn't working, it kept the kidneys from
getting worse but it wasn't making them any better, so I decided to spend January at the Mayo Clinic getting Rituximab infusions every week as part of a clinical trial. After taking all the preliminary tests the Mayo nephrologist informed me that I was going into remission all on my own !! I'm not in total remission yet but I'm heading that way at a rapid pace. This ****ty disease is disappearing as mysteriously as it appeared 21 months ago. I'm still trying to wrap my head around this fantastic paradigm shift. OBROFF: I wet a line in SE Minnesota's Beaver Creek for awhile Sunday afternoon. The catching was slow but the fishing was great. -- Ken Fortenberry |

I'm hoping to hit the Green late Feb. for some midge and streamer fishing to break up the winter blues. Take care, JT |

Saw a very pretty nephrologist today. She was upbeat about everything, so I am much better psychologically. Turns out the my diabetes meds (medforman) had damaged the kidneys this past year. Looks like I am going to have to go to insulin injections. I am told that one shot a day of a new type should keep me ok. Dave |
