I fish from an 11ft fiberglass v-hull and I run a 4hp evinrude, so I really have to pick my days. I live about dead center of ocean view on the water, and was pleasantly surprised with a light WSW which is a combination of the only two winds I can launch off the beach and run to the bridge. Got there there after a beautiful 30-40 min cruise just as the ebb got ripping. There is a visible shoal that bowls out at the tip of willoughby, shoaling up to approx 2-3 feet of the suface (at dead-low). On either tide the resulting semicircle rip is impossible to miss. this is where I have found the fish in the last week. The rock have been lying by the hundreds a few feet if not inches just downtide of the ledge, gorging on the silverside buffet coming out of Little Bay. I Threw sparse olive over white clousers with flashy latteral line. I bailed schoolies for the entirety of the ebb, most were 14-18, but several were 20-22(WOW)lol. Traffic was backed up for a while so I obliged several people who asked from their cars how the fishin was goin. Really wore em out today and left very satisfied. Where did I read that you only fish for rock at night? More reports available at Tidal Fish http://www.TidalFish.com |
