If so is it a variation of a Carrie Stevens pattern? I have got to try and tie some of those up do you think you could post a recipie for that fly if possible? I would love to give that pattern a swing. -- theartoflee He who asks is a fool for five minutes, but he who does not ask remains a fool forever. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ theartoflee's Profile: http://www.njflyfishing.com/vBulleti...php?userid=876 View this thread: http://www.njflyfishing.com/vBulleti...ad.php?t=13991 ----== Posted via Newsfeeds.Com - Unlimited-Unrestricted-Secure Usenet News==---- http://www.newsfeeds.com The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! 120,000+ Newsgroups ----= East and West-Coast Server Farms - Total Privacy via Encryption =---- |

Thanks, I've been reading a few books about Carrie's patterns and I saw great potential for sal****er patterns. To see the recipe go to the blog and click on Jan08 in the archive list in the left hand column and scroll until you come to the title "Salty Stevens" in that post you will see recipes and the flies. Question for a fly_gal
Great Lakes Area for steelhead.
Question for a fly_gal
If you really want a fly for steel in the great lakes area, go with Dave Whitlock's Near-Nuff sculpin patter. Google it.....Swings beautifully and I've yet to see the limits on what that fly catches.... I have a good friend out on Seneca lake and he picks up steel, bows, lakers, browns, carp and salmon on that fly. He plans to add to that list this season.....I do believe it to be one of the deadliest of streamer flys. For the hot season I wrap the head in orange or red....I tend to go for the olive, tan or brown bodies. -- Flygal ':fish:www.TightLinesBlogine.com' (http://tinyurl.com/2w55de) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Flygal's Profile: http://www.njflyfishing.com/vBulleti...hp?userid=2482 View this thread: http://www.njflyfishing.com/vBulleti...ad.php?t=13991 ----== Posted via Newsfeeds.Com - Unlimited-Unrestricted-Secure Usenet News==---- http://www.newsfeeds.com The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! 120,000+ Newsgroups ----= East and West-Coast Server Farms - Total Privacy via Encryption =---- |
