The striking ommisions are the emerging pig diseases: PMWS, PDNS, PCVAD,
PVAD, PRRS, Circovirus etc.

Britain did have a severe outbreak of PMWS in 1999, but declined to ask the
OIE to make it a notifiable disease and later tried to redate it to 2001 and
make it a consequence of the subesquent CSF and FMD epidemics in 2000 & 2001
respectively, rather than a possible contributory cause. The disease
continues to kill pigs in large numbers in Britain.

There seems to be a strong geographical connection between pigs sick with
PMWS (in all its forms and names) and human MRSA.

Unlike most nearby countries and Canada, Britain refuses to test its pigs
for MRSA.
