Where's the fly fising shows?

I guess fly fishermen must spend so much money that the fly equipment
manufactuters don't need to advertise on TV!

Where's the fly fising shows?

Now that I'm committing to 5-6 knots per line and "presentation" instead of
just shotgunning plugs in every direction, where's all the fly fishing
programs? I gleefully scan all the outdoor cable channels expecting to see
FF'ing shows aplenty, but nada. Nothing but bait casters and lure *******
for hours on end. What's the problem? Not enough sponsors to support this
sport? Judging by its prices, Orvis could sponsor a show all by itself.

So far, I've had to depend on an ancient vhs tape from LLBean (pretty good)
and the memory of a FF DVD I viewed about 6 yrs ago (excellent), which in
both cases I checked out from the library. Bass fishermen get to view cable
programs showing every thing but a bass taking a dump in slo-mo by
underwater cameras, as if the producers live in the lake 24/7. I can't even
find a FF show with annoying advertisments for equipment. What's up? There
has to be at least one? If so, when and where?

You get the "Versus" channel? They had at least a few flyfishing shows on it
this morning/early afternoon: streamers for char and surface-feeding lakers up
in Alaska, bones off the flats and baby tarpon in the mangroves in Key West,
flats fishing for permit in the Marquesa...

IOW, all the fishing that requires a boat. Guess I can't expect a program
on river/stream wade/bank fishing. Not big enough sponsors, i.e. boats,
outboard motors, etc. Oh well, back to the library.

Just joined the group or I would've responded earlier. I watch
Spanish Fly (sometimes ff, sometimes not, but that's the name of
Jose's boat) on the Outdoor Channel (chnl 153 on Dish network). It's
on at 5:30 AM (Central) and 6:30 PM on Fridays. It's followed by Trout
Unlimited On the Rise, and Fly Fishing the World. At the moment,
that's all you get, all week long. :-( Better than nothing, though.
:-)

Yes, but unfortunately, gotta pay extra for the Outdoor Channel, here
(DirectTV). This above the $70 we already pay!
