Lost River WV?

Any thoughts on fishing the Lost River area of West Virginia in early
June? Where? Fish types? Flies?

Thanks inadvance.

Ive fished, or more correctly, tried to fish both the Lost and the
Cacapon Rivers, as well as the South Branch back in '70-.72. Then and
in the ,90s when I visited the issue was drought and high temps. Very
pretty country. Ive still got some land there about 15 miles up 259
and 29 at Rio in Hampshire county. Tough country for trout but better
for smallmouth as I recall. So you need more local info,

The Cacapon and Lost River land trust is after land donations so I get
info now and again on conservation issues in that growing area. The
issue these days seems to be the siltation problems associated with
the "Corridor H" project. That's a 4 laner, coming in from the West
roughly along the route of old 55 into Wardensville. The rains of June
can foul the river for a few days, by reports. I'd guess that the
water coming out of the dam on the Lost River befor it hits the main
stem would give you a fail safe, but Ive not fished the area for years
so maybe someone with more recent experience will see your query. But
if you might be interested in a good deal on 10 acres let me know.:-)
